Leslie Ziegler is reframing the mainstream global diet one cricket flour cookie at a time. Ziegler is the co-founder of Bitty, a food company on a mission to introduce and embrace edible insects to the western diet. She was also part of the founding team at Rock Health and now serves as an advisor to several start-up companies at the intersection of health and IT.
Her outlook has been the key to her success: “Nothing worth doing is easy. So many people stop at no or give up when things don’t align their way; I’ve learned to hear no as try again.”
Last year was devoted to turning Bitty from a series of kitchen experiments into a real company; 2015 is all about growth. Ziegler has even managed to “not work another day” by incorporating all of her passions into her professional life. “Speaking has taken me all over the world. Working in food has taken my culinary ambitions to a whole new level, and even my photography hobby comes in handy when we need to do product shots for Bitty,” she says.
Shreya specializes in health communications and is a copywriter for an advertising agency. She was previously at Bayer Healthcare, Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide
