Forgot to make a doctor’s appointment? Didn’t remember to schedule a vaccination, mammogram or colonoscopy? You’re not alone. This app was created by a woman whose mother was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at the age of 76. The reason? She hadn’t had a colonoscopy at the recommended age of 50 or thereafter.
You Matter ensures that each person seeks the medical care he or she needs at the appropriate time. With inputted data, including gender and age, the app asks about previous doctors’ appointments and exams. If the user hasn’t recently had either, it offers a startling reality check –statistics on how many people die each year from not receiving a particular check up — along with reminders.
Part of this app has already been built on Zapparoo, but You Matter still requires additional funding for coding. Based out of Villa Rica, Ga., You Matter has a fundraising goal of $30,000.
You can help support You Matter on Kickstarter.
