The 2016 MedTech Boston 40 Under 40 Healthcare Innovators

Omri and Rotem Shor
Co-Founders at MediSafe
Omri and Rotem ShorFour years ago, after Omri and Rotem Shor’s father accidentally overdosed on his diabetes medication, the two brothers determined to find a way to help patients manage their medications more effectively. They developed MediSafe, an mHealth platform that solves for medication non-adherence by addressing all the major underlying causes of this complex problem, including forgetfulness, fear of side effects, cost, and lack of motivation and support. Today the app has 2.7 million registered users.

Rotem’s background makes him well suited to serve as the company’s CTO. Rotem started developing apps when he was 10 years old. He earned a B.SC. in IT development and a BA in economics from the University of Haifa in Israel.

Omri, as the company’s CEO, taps into his considerable entrepreneurial experience. Omri received his MBA in Entrepreneurship & Strategy from the College of Management in Israel, and prior to MediSafe worked as VP of Marketing and Product for Masadit Software.

What’s next for the brothers in 2016? “Hard work,” says Rotem. “We will continue leading our team to develop the best medication management platform out there, so millions of people can take control of their medications and live healthier lives.”
