At MedTech Boston, we often write about tools that help physicians consume and analyze the unprecedented amount of medical information generated by devices, electronic record keeping and databases.
For the past three months, Boston Scientific has aimed to inspire additional solutions with their Big Data Challenge— an online innovation challenge that called upon the community to submit ideas on how to improve patient outcomes, increase efficiency in delivering care, and drive down the cost of care using data analytics.
With less than 24 hours until the submission deadline, the challenge has received over 40 submissions. Participants have submitted a variety of ideas that use Big Data to address everything from the opioid epidemic to drug reimbursement.
Six winners will be selected to pitch their ideas at Google’s Cambridge headquarter on March 9, and win up to $50,000 of in-kind prizes. Winners will be determined by expert judges and crowd voting. Voting is now open, so be sure to support your favorite ideas by casting a vote!
