The 2017 MedTech Boston 40 Under 40 Healthcare Innovators

13. Evan Pankey MMSc
Product Manager & Solution Architect- inLight EHR at Amazing Charts

Evan Pankey is the product manager for Amazing Charts InLight, an innovative web-based clinical documentation and billing service. Pankey’s success is the result of 10,000 hours in health IT. While in medical school, he quickly discovered a passion for health IT, specifically in medical informatics. This interest lead to his role in transforming health IT for many prestigious hospitals in the Boston area. Moreover, his EHR integration initiative with eClinicalworks was integral in capturing immunization registries nationwide.

In 2013, Pankey joined Amazing Charts as the lead product manger for InLight, where he helped develop and grow a new EHR system. “I remixed the old and the new to bring inLight to market,” says Pankey of his work.

Having successfully launched inLight, he finds interacting with his customers one of the most rewarding aspects of work. “The product team reviews designs, gets feedback and learns how InLight is being used to improve the delivery of primary care.”

So, what is Pankey’s secret? The playful curiosity he uses to fuel his creativity. He infuses the same curiosity in his work and play: whether it’s skiing, salsa dancing, or testing out a new food truck!
