Tomikawa, a Brown University alum, became the CEO and Founder of Zencare.co in 2015. The site provides matching services, videos, appointment scheduling, and other resources for users seeking out vetted therapists in Boston and Rhode Island.
“I was feeling lost in my career and decided to look for a therapist, but found the process to be overwhelming and frustrating,” Tomikawa explained. “I called a dozen providers, left voice messages, and heard back from less than half, many of whom told me they were full practice or not offering the sliding scale they listed online. Our goal at Zencare is to make the therapist search process smooth, comforting, and pleasant. Every team member is wholly dedicated to helping individuals get the care they are looking for.”
Outside of her work, the yoga fan enjoys getting tacos with her team and spending time with her boyfriend, friends, and loved ones.
Tomikawa is most excited about the impact that her team is making.
“The best part of this work has always been the knowledge that one more person is benefitting from great care. I know what a difference a good match with a therapist can make, and love hearing from users,” she explains.
