Submissions are beginning to roll in for The AHN Design the Chip Challenge!
The goal of this challenge is to create a piece of technology or application that streamlines the Emergency Department’s registration process and stores patients’ personal health information needed for registration and emergency treatment.
Teams are challenged to create a piece of technology that allows patients to “just walk in” to the Emergency Department. It should provide patients with an opportunity to store their personal health information in one secure place and enhance their experience when visiting the ED.
From a patient’s perspective, EDs appear chaotic and intimidating. The technology should speak for patients when they cannot speak for themselves. AHN encourages all participants to think critically, gain an understanding of the patient population and identify the appropriate type of technology (wearables, chips, magnetic strips, mobile applications, etc.) to leverage. Ensuring patient privacy and safety are of utmost concern. Do you and your team have what it takes to “Design the Chip”?
The top ten submissions in this online challenge will be invited to demo their solutions in front of a live audience at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in Pittsburgh, PA on September 15, 2017. A single grand prize winner will be awarded $10,000 in cash.
