Entrepreneur Lisa Serwin believes that a lack of women leadership is bad for the industry. “If you think of patients in healthcare systems as consumers, as your customers, to not have the majority of your customer pool represented at your executive table is a huge loss,” she explains. “It’s a huge miss in the healthcare industry.” That’s why she founded C- Sweetener, a non-profit online platform based in San Francisco that matches vetted mentors in the healthcare industry with female mentees aspiring to break into the C-Suite. Serwin, who has held multiple C-Suite positions says, “We really just want to change the conversation. We wanted to stop talking and start doing.”

In terms of remote patient monitoring, CMS has un-bundled CPT code 99091 for 2018, meaning that providers will soon be able to get reimbursed separately for time spent on collection and interpretation of health data that is generated by a patient remotely, digitally stored and transmitted to the provider, at a minimum of 30 minutes of time. CMS stated that this is a first step toward recognizing remote patient monitoring services for separate payment, and it will continue to closely track the AMA’s CPT Editorial Panel activities as they further refine and value the code sets for remote monitoring.

Pixm’s AI anti-phishing software runs on all devices protecting users from these phishing attacks at the point of click. Buduri explains, “Whenever you open a phishing link in your browser, our software performs visual and spatial analysis, determines if it’s a phishing attack, and shuts it down inside your browser in real-time, all within one second.”

According to a Rock Health 2016 report 0% of healthcare fortune 100 companies have a female CEO in the US. Only 8% of the top 100 hospitals in the US are led by a woman. None of the healthcare informatics companies in Massachusetts are led by women despite the state’s high volume of these companies. According to Mass Digital Health Innovation research, there are about 62 total women digital health CEOs out of 350 in the state.
