The Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care is pleased to announce a unique funding
opportunity for Harvard Medical School students, Harvard University professional/graduate
students, and medical residents of Harvard-affiliate hospitals in collaboration with community
health centers.
Four grants of up to $20,000 each will be awarded in the first year to projects that seek to
promote innovation in the delivery of health care to populations served by community health
centers in the Greater Boston Area. Two successful projects may subsequently be considered for
an additional $50,000 in the second year, bringing the award total up to a maximum amount of
$70,000. The Abundance Agents of Change Challenge Grant program seeks to serve as an
incubator and catalyst for the development of innovative and sustainable solutions towards
improving access to and utilization of health care. The goal of the program is to create
financially sustainable solutions that improve public health at the community level in partnership
with community health centers (CHC). These solutions may eventually be integrated into the
day-to-day operations of a CHC or become independent ventures that benefit multiple CHCs
throughout the area. This program invests in the ideas generated through new partnerships
between Harvard Medical School students, community health clinics, physicians-in-training
from Harvard-affiliated hospitals, and members of the Harvard University graduate schools. The
program enables these ideas to become reality and advances the field of primary care.
