The 2015 HealthTech Venture Network Conference (HTVNC) was an enormous success! What kind of topics / industries are the focus of the event?
The highlight of this year’s conference is Medical Technology Innovation. Other topics we’re encouraging are Digital Health, Patient Education, Telemedicine, 3D Printing, Data Analytics, Nutrition and Wellness, Fitness & Wearable, Diagnostic Imaging, and Robotics, to name a few.
What is the format of the conference?
There are expert speakers sharing the latest in their field, and there is a pitch competition for students and entrepreneurs with exciting ideas for health-tech businesses.
Can you tell me more about the pitch competition?
It’s called ELEVATE, and it’s a shark-tank style pitch competition. Basically an entrepreneur gives a 1-2 minute pitch and presentation to the audience and a panel of judges. At the end, the panel decides who to award a prize to based on their pitching ability and the merit of their idea.
What is the prize for ELEVATE, the pitch competition?
Last year business consulting, mentorship & a cash prize of $500 was awarded to each of the two entrepreneurs who won.
Who are the speakers?
They are experts in the healthcare and technology industries. We are still accepting and reviewing applicants and will be making decisions and announcing the agenda by October 15th.
Who sponsors the event?
The event is primarily sponsored by KICVentures, a health-tech fund, SpineFrontier, and AxioMed, which are both medical device companies. We have additional sponsors at lower tiers. If you’re interested in sponsoring the event you can email contact@htvnc.com.
