The topic of our next meetup is FDA’s recent Guidance on Applying Human Factors and Usability Engineering to Medical Devices. This guidance, released in February 2016, illustrates how important human factors and usability engineering are in reducing risk to patients. Since software has a significant role in medical device usability, I expect we will have an interesting discussion on this topic.
I’ve posted this guidance document in our DropBox folder if you are interested in reviewing it…
Here are meetup logistics:
For the first time, our meetup is in Cambridge at the Microsoft New England Research and Development (NERD) Center located at One Memorial Drive – a short walk from the Kendall Square/MIT Red Line station. We will be in the Adams/Attucks rooms located on the 1st floor. There is parking available under the building if you need to drive – otherwise, I encourage you to take the Red Line to Kendall Sq.
The meetup is scheduled for 6-8pm on Thursday Aug 25th.
Please visit our meetup page and RSVP if you plan to come!
