CHXD’S September Workshop: Discovering Unmet Needs Through Experience Research

September will be here before we know it. So, don’t miss CHXD’s upcoming full-day workshop on Experience Research with Mad*Pow’s Dan Berlin and Kim Dowd. The workshop will take place on September 6th from 9am-5pm at a The District Hall in Boston, MA.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

Best practices for clarifying your research goals to make sure you focus on the right problems
An overview of several methods for initial information gathering, including: ethnography, interviews, diary studies, collaging, and focus groups
How to choose the most appropriate research method(s) for your project
Documentation needs, including detailed tips on note taking and data analysis for qualitative data
Practical tips for keeping your interviewing and moderating skills sharp
How to build rapport, instil trust, and stay neutral while conducting research

Pamela Bump

Pamela Bump

Pamela Bump is a candidate for the Master of Science in Media Ventures at Boston University. After receiving a B.A. for a dual major in Journalism and Communication Studies from Keene State College in 2014, she became the Web Editor and Social Media Expert at Taste for Life Magazine, an alternative health publication. She then served as Copy Editor at The Keene Sentinel, a daily newspaper in Keene, N.H. While editing daily city news and designing pages for print, she also managed, edited, and contributed to a weekly health section.

As a Media Ventures student with a passion for health journalism, Pamela hopes to use her time at MedTech to expand storytelling skills, while learning about leadership and innovation in the media-startup industry.
