Google and Autism Speaks are pleased to announce a half-day ‘Autism Pitch Playground’ March 12, at Google’s Cambridge campus. The competition will immediately follow Autism Speaks’ third annual Autism Investment Conference (AIC2015), at Boston’s Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center, March 10-11.
Advances in technology have led to the innovative implementation and development of applications for the autism community for tablet and mobile devices to wearable technologies. The ‘Pitch Playground’ will showcase up-and-coming app developers as they compete for a cash award for the best new app. The award will be focus on the most promising digital apps designed to serve the unmet needs of the autism community. The competition will also provide developers with visibility, and networking opportunities, while the cash award will help support their ongoing research, development and commercialization efforts.
Winning app ideas will be selected by both an expert judging panel and audience participation.
The half-day event will also include prize raffles and technology demonstrations from Google and other companies working to serve the needs of those with the disabilities.
