The IEEE Standards Association is a globally recognized standards-setting body within IEEE that develops consensus standards through an open process that engages industry and brings together a broad stakeholder community. IEEE standards set specifications and best practices based on current scientific and technological knowledge. This wearables medical interoperability workshop aims:

1) To enable a discussion of how to better improve wearable, wireless sensor interoperability with our healthcare system – the current challenges and promise.

2) To enable a discussion of the importance of the data collection, maintenance, and sharing capabilities from digital citizens as it relates to their health and wellbeing.

3) To determine where the priority areas exist after these discussions for standardization work and interoperability research and guidance.
