Science Shaping Our World

May 19, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Science Shaping Our World-SHOW is an ongoing seminar and networking series that highlights cutting edge translational life science research and development. Our mission is to bring together a multidisciplinary audience spanning academia and industry providing exposure and insight into the life science advancements changing our world.

May’s SHOW will be the second in a four-part series focused on the science and the art of networking. Networking has been touted as a crucial and necessary practice…for just about everything. From science to business, career to personal development, the relationships you create and grow have been shown to have a direct and significant impact on all aspects of your life.

Often times though we fall prey to the notion that a big twitter following or large number of LinkedIn connections (or even Facebook friends) equates to actionable relationships. While this can at times be true it is by no means a given…how many of us actually know and/or have met all of our LinkedIn contacts? Thus hand in hand with building a network of contacts is growing the networking and cultivating meaningful relationships that can support you as you move through your professional and personal life.

Leading May’s SHOW event will be career strategist extraordinaire, Sarah Cardozo Duncan. Sarah is an accomplished networker who will be sharing her knowledge and insight on relationship building and strategy. Following the introduction, the remainder of the evening will be an opportunity to put Sarah’s strategies into action, meet new colleagues from outside of your field/outside of your industry, and enrich your network of relationships.

Also, joining us for this event will be an awesome group of special guest “networkers” that will be stationed strategically around the venue space so as to allow for effective access by all attendees and maximum networking diversification!Special guests networking representatives include (TBA):

For this SHOW event, we will continue exploring Podia and how this novel connectivity tool can help event attendees ask those difficult questions and share their knowledge and insight!
